Family motivation can make a boring job more meaningful, found a study co-authored by Dr Jochen Menges, University Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour at Cambridge Judge Business School. The researchers did their study in a Mexican coupon processing factory and asked employees about their work motivation. Those who were high in family motivation were significantly more productive and energised than their peers.
