Jo Salter, founder of ethical clothing company Where Does It Come From?, writes about denim industry and how consumers’ choices could make companies move to more environmental friendly business models. “I have some serious concerns about the way mainstream retailers are approaching the design and sale of jeans. An item which was originally created to be strong, sturdy and long lasting is having its life being deliberately shortened in the name of style,” she writes. The venture is now on the Cambridge Social Ventures programme run by the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation at the School.
