The Telegraph: Healthcare technologies in the new digital era

 

Moving from paper-based systems to digital devices could re-energise healthcare system in the UK. According to Mark Howells, founder of Konnektis startup, mobile devices allows to provide care to patients in their homes and improve the communication between healthcare professionals and patients. “These mobile devices have data connectivity and become the hub for health professionals, formal carers and family members to access, record and share information easily and securely. As a result, we can all collaborate in real-time to deliver the highest standards of care.” Konnektis, which offers a web based platform that runs on a dedicated 4G Internet-enabled tablet that stays in the home, was on the Cambridge Social ventures programme run by the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation at the School.
