Cambridge Alumni Magazine: On boredom

 

An article on boredom features a research paper by Marlen de la Chaux, a PhD student at Cambridge Judge Business School. During a fieldwork trip in Kenya, Marlen noticed that life in refugee camps imposes “immense boredom” and people are missing out on opportunities in entrepreneurship. She argues for policymakers to foster entrepreneurship in these camps so people can “achieve a sense of purpose in their life and build an identity”.
