Canadian Inquirer: Small firms thrive as customers seek more unique clothing

Professor Jaideep Prabhu says the success of companies like Welsh clothing firm Hiut comes from promoting their small size and individuality: “It’s a different kind of manufacturing. These are very cool little boutiques.” He says there’s a shift away from the model of outsourcing production to low-cost countries like China as small businesses now see an advantage in giving consumers something that is closer to their needs.
