A report looking at the UK alternative finance industry by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance is featured in a Financial Times article on peer-to-peer lending regulation. According to the report, “in 2016 £1.23 billion of loans were provided to small businesses in the UK – equal to 15 per cent of all new SME loans by banks – and similar amounts of consumer and property loans.”(subs)
