Momentum investing, an investment style that developed 20-25 years ago, is still a valid approach. A report co-authored by Professor Elroy Dimson, Chairman of the Newton Centre for Endowment Asset Management (CEAM) at Cambridge Judge, found that “between 1900 and 2016 UK stocks that had beaten the market in the previous 12 months returned 14.1 per cent on average over the subsequent 12 months.” And in the US the winning stocks returned 17.5 per cent.
