“Eleanor and I met over a formal hall dinner at Sidney Sussex College, just after we had both moved to Cambridge in Summer 2014: myself to study for the Cambridge Master of Finance (MFin) and Eleanor to begin working in the library at Christ’s College. We were very lucky to be able to get to know each other through attending dinners, May Balls, evensong services and walks along the River Cam. We even found out that we had almost crossed paths with each other in 2013 whilst holidaying (separately) in the Blue Mountains of Australia, missing each other by a few weeks! After a wonderful year in Cambridge, we moved to London where I began work in Canary Wharf and Eleanor studied for her Library and Information Studies MA degree at University College London (UCL).

“Whilst in Cambridge for a May Ball in 2017, I proposed to Eleanor in the gardens of Sidney Sussex College. We were married in the College’s chapel just over a year later in August 2018 and held our wedding reception in the formal hall where we first met! We were fortunate that friends from Cambridge and former MFin classmates were able to celebrate with us. Despite no longer living nearby, we always enjoy returning to Cambridge whenever possible.”
