Architecture: RIBA East Award winners: Simon Sainsbury Centre

 

The Simon Sainsbury Centre, the new Cambridge Judge Business School extension, is named a winner in the RIBA Regional architecture awards. The project, designed by Stirling Prize-winning architects Stanton Williams, allowed the School to expand by 5,000 square metres and includes two new lecture theatres, breakout rooms, faculty offices and new dining facilities. “Achieving the simplicity and quiet elegance found in the Simon Sainsbury Centre takes a huge amount of effort. Every detail here has been considered and all elements brought together in intersections that are perfect in execution,” the article says.
