A study co-authored by Dr Mia Gray, Senior Research Fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, found that “more deprived areas tend to correlate with bigger cuts in service spending”, while spending cuts tend to be smaller in less deprived areas. The study says deprived areas in the north of England and London have seen the biggest drop in local authority spending since 2010.
