Financial Times: ‘Greenwashing is rampant’, warns chief of global accounting body

 

Press coverage of a Cambridge Judge conference on climate change financial reporting. Keynote speaker Hans Hoogervorst, the chair of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), said that companies’ sustainability reporting alone will not affect meaningful change. “We should not expect sustainability reporting to be very effective in inducing companies to prioritise planet over profit. Greenwashing is rampant,” he said. The conference was organised by the Cambridge Centre for Financial Reporting & Accountability at Cambridge Judge. (subs)
