Mentoring of junior colleagues can reduce anxiety and improve the mental health of the mentors themselves, says a study co-authored by Dr Thomas Roulet, University Senior Lecturer in Organisation Theory at Cambridge Judge. “Organisations need to account for the resources allocated to mentoring and allow flexibility for those mentoring relationships to grow. Those that commit to mentoring might be surprised by the multidimensional benefits this practice brings,” Thomas says.
