He says conference calls can create unspoken tension: “In the traditional workplace, it is easier to pick up on the office dynamic and address potential issues when face-to-face, but when working remotely it is much harder to pick up on people’s emotions and body language for various reasons. This can lead to tension and conflict if left undealt with”.
