Poets & Quants talks to five MBA students from different business schools who worked in non-traditional industries before their studies. Jasmin Aslan, currently studying at Cambridge Judge Business School, was working as Museum development officer in Canada. “I think that a lot of people on an MBA come from organisations with a profit focus, and I can add a lot to the discussion of wider purpose and understanding the pursuit of other kinds of value,” Jasmin says. Her advice for prospect students from non-traditional backgrounds going through the admissions process is that “it is important to be authentic and not try to fit your story into a specific mold. Tell the story of how you developed a passion into a career.”
