Thrift+, a social enterprise that was previously on Cambridge Social ventures programme run by Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation, is featured in The Guardian article on growing interest in second-hand goods during Covid-19. Founder Joe Metcalfe, alumnus of Cambridge Judge Business School (MST 2009) says people are more often choosing to be pre-loved items. “More and more people are loud and proud about trying to shop exclusively secondhand,” he says. “Previously, the reason would have been primarily price – secondhand clothes are typically 75 per cent less than RRP.”
