Outfield, a venture currently on the Accelerate Cambridge programme at Cambridge Judge’s Entrepreneurship Centre, is using drone technology to increase fruit-crop yield. The technology has been recently tested in Cambridgeshire Orchard aiming to estimate how much fruit there is.
The company hopes to “evolve the system further so it can also judge the quality of fruit in future, as well as quantity, to help farms run more efficiently.”
