Poets & Quants: B-school students who deferred in 2020 settle into a new year & new outlook

 

Poets&Quants talked to Diviya Dewan, a current MBA student who deferred in 2020. She talked about the reasons she decided to defer, including coronavirus pandemic and financial constraints. But the positive part was that she was able to connect with other deferred candidates online. “A big chunk of us deferred, which also sort of makes it nice because we have known each other a lot longer,” Divya said. “The ones in India, we’ve even met up. I was constantly in touch with my three or four peers in, so I felt like I have already experienced a year with them. I don’t think I wasted the last year, I think that I have benefitted from it.” (subs)
