A feature about Citizen Zoo, a social startup that focuses on restoring habitats and reintroducing species to their former ranges based on research that delivers measurable outcomes. Founded in 2016 the startup is currently working to reintroduce grasshoppers to restored wetland sites. “We came up with this citizen keeper concept, which is basically normal people being zookeepers in their own homes, breeding and rearing grasshoppers,” says Founder and CEO Lucas Ruzo.
Citizen Zoo was previously on the Cambridge Social Ventures programme run by the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation.
