We are delighted to invite you to join the alumni group leaders in Asia for this webinar with Michael Kitson, University Senior Lecturer in International Macroeconomics and Director of the MBA programme, as part of this year’s CJBS Connects.

Michael will address the long-term phenomenon of the world economy being re-orientated from West to East. The global economy in the twentieth century was largely dominated by the US economy but the dominant power in the twenty-first century will be China. The US entered this century as the dominant country but, just like the UK in the early twentieth century, it is a ‘diminishing giant’; and now we are in the early stages of transition to China as the dominant world economy. Michael will explore the four emerging strengths of the Chinese system: economic power, corporate strength, emerging innovation and a form of capitalism directed towards long-term growth.

Michael’s talk will be followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

This webinar will be delivered via Zoom, and the Zoom link will be shared after registration.

This webinar is part of this year’s remotely held CJBS Connects: Worldwide campaign.
