Dr Iivo Vehviläinen, Aalto University

Speaker bio

Iivo Vehviläinen is a Research Fellow at the Department of Economics at Aalto University where his research agenda focuses on the impacts of the advancing energy transition on electricity markets. His work mixes environmental and energy economics with industrial organisation. His research has been published in international scientific journals in the field of environmental economics, energy economics, operations research, and finance. He is currently returning to academia from a professional career as a successful electricity market specialist; for example, providing policy advice to Committees of the Finnish Parliament, the Prime Minister’s Office, and various ministries and regulatory bodies.
