Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) keeps in touch with its alumni, associate alumni, donors, friends and external supporters and provides services to them. CJBS, the University of Cambridge and the Colleges also have a shared interest in and coordinated approach to their alumni and supporters. This statement explains how CJBS handles and uses data it collects (the University and Colleges also keep data and have their own data protection procedures). Paper records are also held.
The records are used by CJBS for the purposes of communications about marketing, alumni relations, supporter and corporate relations. These may include CJBS news and faculty publications, alumni surveys, appeals, the marketing of events, Executive Education, alumni email and online services and merchandise. Communications are usually sent by electronic means and may also be sent by post and telephone.
Most records contain education, contact details (including PA contact details where appropriate), biographical, business and career information and other achievements. Contact and relationships with CJBS and the University since graduation and donations are also recorded. In some cases other data is added, such as data from external partners (see below); sensitive data you provide for a specific purpose (disability or lifestyle status for event management or updating of personal history for example); information about your family and other relationships; financial data coming from you or reputable public sources; and information about your areas of interest and potential to support CJBS.
Security and controlled data-sharing with partners
All information is held and transmitted securely and (in addition to disclosure as permitted or required by law) may be disclosed on a considered and confidential basis only to:
- Collegiate Cambridge
- selected companies who provide CJBS with services
CJBS also facilitates communication between individuals, but in doing so does not release personal contact details without prior permission.
You are in control. If you have any queries, wish to restrict data processing or sharing including use for marketing or do not want to be contacted by CJBS, please inform us at email@example.com. Please also let us know if you do not wish to receive unsolicited e-communications about events (general or Business Briefings), fundraising, newsletters (alumni or stewardship) and alumni groups. Please note that electronic updates such as newsletters may still contain references to events, fundraising and alumni groups. (Minimal information is always retained to make sure you are not contacted again inadvertently: name, College, subject, matriculation and graduation details, USN/CRSID and date of birth.) You will need to contact the University of Cambridge Development Office and your College separately if you wish to restrict college data processing, sharing, marketing or contact. We will publish any changes we make to this data protection statement and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
