Assessing the Impact of the National Minimum Wage on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME Survey) (CBR project)

Overview

A project to explore the possible effects of the introduction of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) in 1999 commissioned by the Low Pay commission. The CBR augmented its regular survey of small and medium sized business in two ways. First the industry cover was extended to cover the cleaning and security sectors, second three questions inquiring specifically about the effect of the NMW were added to the questionnaire.
