Cambridge Judge Business School is a department of the University of Cambridge. The University’s Statutes and Ordinances regulate our academic and teaching activities and our constitution.
The University’s departments are grouped into 6 Schools. Cambridge Judge is part of the School of Technology. Our Faculty Board, and our Dean, Professor Gishan Dissanaike, report to the Council of the School of Technology.
Our Executive Education business is a limited company. It is wholly owned by the University and managed by a board of directors, chaired by the Dean of the School. We also run a number of ancillary research groups and other centres.
The Faculty Board of Business & Management
The Faculty Board of Business & Management is a statutory elected body and the principal governing committee within the School. It reports to the University’s General Board on matters relating to teaching, timetabling and teaching standards, research, operations and finance, faculty, research centres and our Executive Education business. The Faculty Board is chaired by Professor Alastair Beresford.
Degree Committee
The Degree Committee is a statutory body which reports to the University’s General Board on graduate student matters relating to admissions, supervision and the awarding of degrees and diplomas. The Degree Committee is chaired by Professor Jane Davies.
A series of non-statutory committees including the Teaching Committees, Subject Group Heads Committee, Subject Groups and Operations User Group oversee day-to-day management across these areas, including teaching, faculty appointments, promotions and student admissions.
Advisory Board
Cambridge Judge Business School benefits hugely from the advice and guidance of our Advisory Board, which comprises members of the external corporate community and meets twice a year.
The Advisory Board provides valuable advice on strategy and policy, and plays a critical role in the School’s development by providing top-level connections and collaboration.

They are elected by their peers – as well as staff representatives from the Business School. The Council convenes 4 times a year, with meetings supplemented with regular online and telephone communication.
