The Behavioural Roundtable is a speaker series hosted by the El-Erian Institute. It serves to convene leading practitioners and researchers in the field of behavioural insights to share experiences form the field and discuss latest scientific insights.

What are the consequences of people’s limited willpower for policymaking? Join Will Tiemeijer as he discusses this question based on his latest book and a closely related policy report. The report contributed to a major shift in policymaking by introducing a test currently being implemented across all Dutch ministries to align laws in preparation with people’s limited willpower.

Will Tiemeijer is a Professor of Behavioural Science and Public Policy at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Senior Advisor to the Dutch government. He has (co)authored numerous reports and publications at the intersection of psychology, philosophy, and politics. His latest book is “Self-control: Individual differences and what they mean for personal responsibility and public policy“ (Cambridge University Press, 2022).
