Marco Tedesco is a Lamont Research Professor at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and the founder and director of the Laboratory on AI, Climate and Society. His research focuses on the cryosphere, climate change, climate justice, the economic and societal implications of a changing climate, and the role of AI in climate and society. He has led more than 15 expeditions to Greenland and Antarctica, alongside fieldwork across the Arctic, North America and the Italian Alps.
A Fellow of the Explorers Club, Dr Tedesco is also a member of the New York City Panel on Climate Change. He is the author of Remote Sensing of the Cryosphere and The Hidden Life of Ice, which has been translated into 7 languages.
