Unlike the School's post-experience programmes, the MPhil in Management is aimed at students who have just finished their degree (in any discipline except business and management-related majors) and who have less than one year of professional working experience at the start of the programme.

You should have achieved a UK First class Honours Degree and will be rigorously shortlisted on the basis of your undergraduate academic performance. Transcripts and academic references are part of the academic performance evidence that applicants are required to submit when applying to this programme.

The MPhil in Management is a taught masters programme which offers a thorough grounding in management. It sets high academic standards and is based upon the latest academic research in the field. Because management involves such a variety of skills, from the mathematical to the interpersonal, you are challenged to excel across a wide range of applied disciplines.

During the course of your studies, you will acquire a deep understanding of the theory and practice of management. The programme covers a range of technical and specialist subjects that are central to the study of the different branches of the management discipline. Lectures, discussions and written work are designed for you to analyse and gain a critical understanding of the key techniques, conceptual issues and debates in the academic management literatures and in the practice of management.

Our expectation is that our MPhil in Management graduates will seek a career in management. The programme is consequently conceived as a graduate conversion course which equip you for such a career.
