Adrian Marrison

PhD Candidate


Adrian Marrison started his PhD at the University of Cambridge in October 2017. He specialises in organisational theory and behaviour, and is a member of Jesus College. He has been awarded a full ESRC Scholarship for his Doctoral studies. Adrian also holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge and has received a Letter of Commendation from the board of examiners, which is a recognition given for consistently high grades. He completed undergraduate studies in Business & Management at Durham University. During this, he received an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.

Research interests

Adrian is particularly interested in the study of teamwork, occupations that present significant social, physical or emotional challenges, activity in extreme contexts, and how collaboration is fostered in the face of challenging or distressing conditions. He has experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Adrian is currently conducting ethnographic fieldwork at a high security prison. The output from this research is expected to come in 2020.
