Research topic
Between Entrepreneurship & Society: An Institutional Lens on Entrepreneuring for the Greater Good
Biography
Jonah Zankl is a PhD Candidate in the Organisational Theory & Information Systems group at Cambridge Judge Business School. He is interested in the interaction between the entrepreneurial field – including entrepreneurs and organisational sponsors – and society. On the one hand, he explores how entrepreneurs can contribute to the development of healthy societies through responsible engagement, and conversely on the other hand, how society can be organised so as to support productive entrepreneurship in this same fashion. Methodologically, he explores this through qualitative approaches including longitudinal participant observations, interviewing, and archival sources. He is supported in his research as a Benavitch Scholar at St Catharine’s College and further funded by Cambridge Judge Business School.
Jonah completed his Master of Philosophy in Innovation, Strategy & Organisation from the University of Cambridge where he studied at Hughes Hall. He completed his undergraduate at the University of Calgary, with a BA (Hons) Economics and BSc Applied Mathematics. Prior to beginning his PhD, he was a Product Manager at ATB Financial in Calgary, Canada, where he managed technologies for international money movement and personal financial wellness.
