Essays on Healthy Entrepreneurial Ecosystems

Biography

Jonah Zankl is a PhD Candidate in the Organisational Theory & Information Systems group at Cambridge Judge Business School. He is interested in understanding how entrepreneurial ecosystems – communities of support and resources for entrepreneurs – are formed and maintained, and importantly, how they can be arranged to develop healthy entrepreneurial ventures. Methodologically, he explores this through qualitative approaches including longitudinal participant observations, interviewing, and archival sources. He is supported in his research as a Benavitch Scholar at St Catharine’s College and further funded by Cambridge Judge Business School.

Jonah completed his Master of Philosophy in Innovation, Strategy & Organisation from the University of Cambridge where he studied at Hughes Hall. He completed his undergraduate at the University of Calgary, with a BA (Hons) Economics and BSc Applied Mathematics. Prior to beginning his PhD, he was a Product Manager at ATB Financial in Calgary, Canada, where he managed technologies for international money movement and personal financial wellness.

Outside of studies, Jonah is a captain with Hughes Hall Boat Club and can often be found on the River Cam.
