Dr Mark de Rond to talk about his new book on team performance at a Cambridge Judge Business Briefing in New York on 12 July 2012
Dr Mark de Rond will be talking about his latest book,There is an I in Team at the next Cambridge Judge Business Briefing in New York on Thursday 12 July.
The event is hosted by Cambridge Judge Business School and Cambridge in America and will take place at the Harvard Club of NYC on 35 West 44th Street.
Dr de Rond will look at the performance of teams through the lens of sports and through first-hand accounts of elite athletes, elite teams and their coaches; he will explore the relationship between the individual and team and will ask the question: How can we harness the talent of individual performers into a cohesive, productive team that creates value?
As a Reader in Strategy and Organisation at Cambridge Judge Business School in the UK, Dr de Rond studies teams of high performers the old fashioned way, by living with them under similar conditions.
His first book, on drug discovery collaborations, received the 2005 George R Terry Book Award from the Academy of Management, making him the youngest ever recipient. His second book, based on his observations of the Cambridge University Boat Race squad was simultaneously selected by the Financial Times as one of the 12 Best Business Books of 2008, and by BBC Sport as one of the 10 Best Sporting Reads of 2008. His third book, There is an I in Team, was published by Harvard Business Review Press on 3 July 2012.
