The Director of the Centre for India and Global Business at Cambridge Judge Business School, Professor Jaideep Prabhu, has been shortlisted for the 2013 Thinkers50 Distinquished Achievement Award shortlists.
He joins Cambridge Judge Fellow and former Executive Director of the Centre, Navi Radjou, in the nominations for the CK PRAHALAD Breakthrough Idea Award.
The pair co-authored the book Jugaad Innovation: Think Frugal, Be Flexible, Generate Breakthrough Growth. They argued that the West must look to places like India, China, and Africa for a new, bottom-up approach to frugal and flexible innovation.
Jaideep said:
It is a great honour to be shortlisted for the Thinkers50
2013 CK Prahalad Breakthrough Idea Award for our book Jugaad Innovation:
Think Frugal, Be Flexible, Generate Breakthrough Growth. It is particularly fitting that our book, which highlights the contribution that emerging economies like India are making in the area of frugal innovation, should be shortlisted for an award named after CK Prahalad, the management thinker who first brought the global potential of such innovation to the attention of business leaders.”
Navi Radjou, has also been shortlisted in the Thinkers50 Innovation Award category. His recent success in the 2013 Thinkers50 India Innovation Award has raised his ranking to 17 in the top 50 named in the first edition of the Thinkers50 India ranking.
Thinkers 50 is the bi-annual global ranking of management thinkers and this is the first time that the School has reached any of the category shortlists.
The winners of the awards will be announced in London on 11 November 2013.
