Cambridge Judge Business School is sad to share the news of Richard Ashton King’s passing.
We are sad to share that Richard King passed away on Sunday 28 June 2020.
Richard had a truly remarkable career in Cambridge, with high profile roles, including Chair of Aveva Group, Founder and former Chairman of Xaar plc, and Chief Executive of Cambridge Electronic Industries. He helped establish the Cambridge Cluster – the largest technology cluster in Europe. Additionally, he served as Chair of the Cambridgeshire Health Authority, and as Deputy Chair of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and was Emeritus Fellow at Darwin College.
We are truly grateful to Richard and his wife, Anne, for their generous philanthropic support of Cambridge Judge Business School, which contributed towards the creation of the Simon Sainsbury Centre, behind the old Addenbrooke’s site.
We extend our sincere condolences to Richard’s family and friends.
