Several firms with ties to Cambridge Judge Business School won top honours at the awards organised by the publication Business Weekly.
Several companies who have received support from Cambridge Judge Business School were honoured in the Business Weekly awards held this month at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge.
PragmatIC Semiconductor, which provides a technology platform to create ultra-low-cost flexible integrated circuits, won the Graduate Business Award sponsored by Cambridge Judge.
“PragmatIC is a world leader in ultra-low-cost flexible electronics,” said Bruno Cotta, Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Centre at Cambridge Judge. “Co-founders Scott White and Richard Price started the company in Cambridge in 2010 primarily because of a relationship established with the University – it arranged to embed its research team within the Engineering department as it developed technology proof of concept, and 75% of the initial team were Cambridge graduates. They have since grown to over 180 staff, continuing to attract both local and global talent with significant venture capital and corporate backing.”
Lucy Jung, co-founder and CEO of Charco Neurotech, was named winner of the Cambridge Judge Business School Woman Entrepreneur award.
Bruno Cotta added: “Lucy’s leadership and team is a great example of what can be achieved by drawing on diverse talent from the golden triangle of Oxford, Cambridge and London. Charco has developed an innovative, easy-to-use, non-invasive wearable medical device for people with Parkinson’s which offers relief to many suffering from this debilitating condition. It’s been a pleasure to observe Lucy’s entrepreneurial journey since she joined our Accelerate Cambridge programme when the company was formed in 2019. She is a shining example for all our budding startup CEOs and the youngest ever winner of this award that celebrates female entrepreneurship.”
The Sustainability Champion award was won by SATAVIA, an analytics and visualisation company for the aviation industry; Qureight, a clinical data analytics firm, was named Young Company winner. Both companies were also supported by the Entrepreneurship Centre’s tailored management training and mentoring.
