MFin Director, Professor Pedro Saffi, travelled to Mexico City in August. During his visit he had the chance to meet and connect with some of our Mexican alumni and new students.
With a well-established CJBS alumni network in Mexico, we were delighted to host our alumni for an informal drinks’ reception in Mexico City on 16 August.
Over 20 alumni from several CJBS programmes attended the evening event, and they were also joined by some of our incoming students who will be starting the MFin programme in September.
Professor Saffi, who was visiting Mexico City as part of a CJBS Executive Education programme, was pleased to meet so many of our alumni during his trip.
“The event was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and reconnect with each other. I was able to meet MFin students from several cohorts, as well as some who are about to start the programme. I’m thrilled that they have achieved their career objectives and, more importantly, that everyone is very happy with what they have achieved so far.”
Sharing memories and inspiring career stories
Hearing from CJBS alumni about their own experiences of Cambridge, and the impact it has had on them personally and professionally, provided valuable insights to our incoming students.
Gustavo Santa Rosa Garcia (MFin 2019/20) attended the reception and enjoyed reconnecting with classmates from his cohort, as well as meeting MBA alumni and incoming MFin students. The evening was an opportunity to share memories from his time at Cambridge and reflect on how the MFin has helped him achieve his careers goals.
“I am beyond grateful to the MFin and to Cambridge. Not only did I gain solid financial and economic knowledge at one of the best universities in the world, but I also had one the best personal experiences from which I learned resilience, patience and humility (both intellectual and personal).
I have no doubt that my time in Cambridge has greatly contributed to my professional career. I was able to jump into Asset Management just after the programme concluded, and I recently switched to the Private Equity space. I now feel more prepared to weather new challenges and endeavours that may arise in this sector.”
The MFin programme would like to thank to the CJBS Executive Education team and the CJBS alumni Mexico group for their help organising this event.
