The company uses computer vision and 3D cameras, as well as weights connected to a person’s body, to deliver personalised training at home to elite athletes and other people. Exercises are performed in front of an intelligent hologram mirror that gives live feedback on form, repetition count and other key metrics.
We built MAGIC AI to use intelligent technology not as a gimmick, but to help people genuinely know their own bodies and take control of their health.
A former investment banker, Varun says he was overweight but lost a lot of weight and got into good shape through a personal trainer at a gym in London, and realised that artificial intelligence could be used to help people take care of their own fitness at home.
“I walked away from investment banking because I refused to accept that looking after your health had to be a luxury good,” he says. “We built MAGIC AI to help change that, to use intelligent technology not as a gimmick but to help people genuinely know their own bodies and take control of their health. Receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise from His Majesty the King is the proudest moment of our journey so far. It is a powerful signal that British innovation is leading the way in making health accessible to everyone.”
Star-studded investor line-up
The company says it has raised US$9 million from investors including, from the sports world, former England footballer Jesse Lingard, former England cricket captain Sir Alastair Cook, and Team GB Olympians Desiree Henry and Asha Philip.
A total of 186 companies received the King’s Award for Enterprise in 2026, which marked the 60th anniversary of the awards. Besides the Innovation category, awards were granted for International Trade, Promoting Opportunity and Sustainability.
