Emotional intelligence (EI) has been studied intensively since the early 1990s, and a stubborn stereotype has developed that women possess more EI than men. Yet is that really the case?
Join us for an inspiring Black History Month panel discussion on the theme Honouring our Communities, exploring Black leadership, representation, belonging and how to turn commitment into lasting change.
Bringing together leaders from the Cambridge Judge Executive MBA community, the discussion will reflect on the people and communities that shape our personal and professional journeys, and on what it means to belong, both in the workplace and in a programme like the Executive MBA. Speakers will share their own experiences of support, opportunity and challenge, and what these have taught them about inclusive leadership.
The panel will explore:
the communities and relationships that have shaped speakers’ careers and ambitions
what belonging means in practice, and why representation matters for confidence and career decisions
what an inclusive and supportive community looks like, and the role leaders play in building one
the motivations, challenges and support networks behind completing an Executive MBA alongside work and personal commitments
how leaders can use their influence to create opportunities for others and support the next generation
what it takes to move from conversations and good intentions to meaningful, lasting change
