Uniting for the planet’s future: business schools join forces to tackle climate change

Business Schools for Climate Leadership, a group of eight European business schools including Cambridge Judge, launches a second series of webinars to accelerate climate-change action.

Business Schools for Climate Leadership (BS4CL), a group of eight European business schools including Cambridge Judge Business School, announced a second series of webinars to accelerate action toward tackling climate change, including a presentation by Kamiar Mohaddes, Associate Professor in Economics & Policy at Cambridge Judge.

The eight business schools forming BS4CL are:

  • Cambridge Judge Business School
  • HEC Paris
  • IE Business School
  • IESE Business School
  • the International Institute for Management Development (IMD)
  • INSEAD
  • London Business School
  • Saïd Business School (University of Oxford).

The first series was held around the time of the COP26 climate-change summit in Glasgow in late 2021, and the second series kicks off 25 May with a focus on how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, beyond its tragic human cost, poses a serious challenge to Europe’s energy transition plan for climate neutrality. This first webinar in the second series includes speakers from HEC Paris and IESE Business School.

8 June: Climate and entrepreneurship

A focus on how creating a Net Zero economy requires rethinking products, services and operations from scratch, featuring speakers from IE Business School and the Green Climate Fund.

17 June: The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report and Climate Leadership

How predictions of the IPCC on global average surface temperature will require new regulation by policymakers around the world, featuring speakers from the International Institute for Management Development, Cambridge Judge Business School (Kamiar Mohaddes) and Saïd Business School. Recent studies by Kamiar Mohaddes have looked at the connection between climate change and GDP, and between global warming and sovereign credit ratings.

11 July: COP15

Looking at COP15 and what it means for business and climate leadership, featuring speakers from INSEAD, London Business School Said Business School and Cambridge Judge Business School.
