My research interests include relational demography and diversity, social identification, employment externalisation, managerial cognition and affect. I work on combining my various interests to develop a more comprehensive understanding of diverse teams. My work has appeared in outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology and Strategic Management Journal.
Professional experience
Professor Chattopadhyay is an Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Discoveries and was previously Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Journal (2016-2019). He is a member of Advisory Board of The Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Business and Management and a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Psychology Review and Journal of Strategy and Management. He was previously a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Management (2003-2008) and of the Journal of Organizational Behavior (2005-2009). Earlier, he worked in sales at Eureka Forbes and as a research associate at the Tata Management Training Centre.
Previous appointments
Professor Chattopadhyay was a professor at University of Auckland and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Prior to that he held academic appointments at the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of Queensland and Western Michigan University.
