I’m a PhD candidate in the Organisational Theory and Information Systems group at Cambridge Judge Business School. My research focuses on understanding how and why organisational members enact silence in extreme contexts such as war and total institutions. I’m supported in my research by the Post 9/11 GI Bill, the Army Women’s Foundation Scholarship, and Cambridge Judge Business School.

Biography
Pearl holds a Bachelor of Science in Human & Regional Geography from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Education in Technology, Education and Innovation from Harvard University, a Master of Business Administration in Asia Pacific Business from the National Institute of Development Administration, and a Master of Philosophy in Innovation, Strategy and Organisation from the University of Cambridge.
Prior to doctoral studies, she served as lecturer and programme director at Thammasat University (Thailand) where she taught undergraduate courses, ran workshops, and delivered talks on various topics including globalisation, education, and innovation. Pearl is also a former US Army Aviation officer, UH60 helicopter pilot, and combat veteran (Iraq). Her military career spanned 3 continents and comprised leadership, staff, and instructional roles. In her free time, Pearl enjoys exploring new landscapes, learning new skills, and playing with new tech gadgets.
