A brief overview of your previous work experience/career path up to this point
Prior to coming to Cambridge Judge Business School, I worked in financial services roles across lending and insurance, combining product strategy with analytics and operational delivery. My work involved building and improving digital credit journeys, developing performance dashboards and controls, and supporting business decisions through data analysis on portfolio growth, unit economics and process efficiency. I frequently partnered with technology, risk and compliance teams to translate business goals into scalable releases and measurable outcomes.
Why you decided to apply to Cambridge, and what attracted you to the MFin programme
I applied to Cambridge because the MFin offers a rigorous, markets-focused curriculum with a strong emphasis on applied learning. I was particularly attracted to the programme’s depth in asset pricing, capital markets and risk, and the opportunity to learn these frameworks in a global cohort with diverse professional experience. Cambridge’s broader ecosystem including student funds, research centres and exposure to practitioners also made it a compelling place to accelerate my finance career.
What you are looking forward to the most about your year in Cambridge
I’m most looking forward to connecting theory with markets in real time using the programme’s tools to interpret macro developments, rates and risk appetite, and translating that into investment insights. I’m also excited about collaborative learning through case discussions and group work, and the chance to engage deeply with the wider Cambridge community. Overall, I want to make this year both intellectually intense and professionally transformative.
What you are hoping to achieve this year, and how it will contribute towards your post-MFin career
This year, my goal is to build a stronger core investing toolkit valuation, portfolio construction, risk management and market intuition and apply it through practical projects and student-led initiatives. I want to develop the ability to form an investment view, stress-test it with data, and communicate it clearly under time pressure. This will directly support my post-MFin aim of moving into markets/investing roles where disciplined decision-making and risk-aware execution are essential.
Your thoughts and feelings on being awarded an MFin scholarship
Receiving the scholarship genuinely meant a lot to me. It made Cambridge feel more accessible and took away a big layer of pressure, which has allowed me to focus on learning and making the most of the year. I’m very grateful for the support and it’s also motivating, because it feels like the Business School is backing your potential and expecting you to make the most of it.
