Founding team
Vanessa Gstrein
Vanessa grew up in Austria, studied Linguistics and Management at Cambridge University (2011-2014), Translation at Bristol University (2014-2015), and went on to a career as a freelance writer for a number of German and Austrian publications. In 2022, she founded Mothering Minds, a perinatal mental health platform offering online resources and a matching service with qualified psychotherapists.
Thomas Tester
Tom started his first business aged 17. He purchased a small window cleaning round and grew it over the years into one of the largest window cleaning businesses in Cambridge. In 2018 he expanded into property maintenance and now manages two companies with over 1000 regular clients. In 2022, the arrival of his daughter opened his eyes to the profound mental health challenges of new parenthood. He played a key role in establishing his wife’s perinatal mental health business, Mothering Minds, and has most recently helped shape her new venture, Matrescent, adding from his perspective as partner and father.
