Chris Maitland
Chris has deep domain experience in government and consulting, having worked as a management consultant advising government clients. It is through working both for government and consulting into government that he has identified opportunities to use technology to streamline public-private interactions. In particular while writing tender applications to win large government contracts, e.g. with the Saudi government.
Chris has provided advice to C-suite executives and senior government figures across corporate strategy, competitive positioning, crisis management and stakeholder engagement. Chris is a strong communicator, with experience advising the UK government on EU Exit trade arrangements, as a diplomat posted to North Africa, and as a senior negotiator on UK trade deals with major economies including the US, Japan and Canada. He recently provided strategic advisory services to a multi-billion pound Saudi Arabian infrastructure project.
Chris studied law and international relations at the universities of Cambridge, Melbourne and Adelaide. He was a founding member of the Cambridge University Metanet/Bitcoin society that created a blockchain ecosystem for Cambridge students, including a student hackathon with £10,000 prize money.
