Join us for an information session and International Business Briefing in New York. The event will be hosted by Professor Pedro Saffi (Professor of Financial Economics and Director of the Master of Finance Programme) as he provides insights on ‘Short Sellers: Heroes or Villains?’ Professor Pedro Saffi will present the latest evidence about their impact on stock markets.
Short selling is when someone sells shares, they have borrowed in the hope that the price will fall before they have to buy them back. The goal is to make a profit by returning the shares to the owner at a lower price. Short sellers profit when prices go down. Do they make markets more efficient, or are they just manipulators?
You will hear a presentation about our Executive MBA, MBA and Master of Finance programmes from Professor Pedro Saffi and have an opportunity to ask questions.
After the programme presentation you will have a chance to network with alumni and Professor Saffi over refreshments.
