No. An MBA is a professional degree rather than a research-based master’s qualification and does not meet the entry requirements for our PhD programme.

No. While professional experience may strengthen an application, it does not replace the research training required for doctoral study. Entry to the PhD programme is normally through one of our research master’s programmes.
No. We do not offer informal visits, or auditing opportunities, for prospective applicants. Applicants interested in the PhD programme are encouraged to refer to the information available on the Business School website for guidance on how to apply.
Prospective applicants are welcome to review faculty research interests and identify academics whose expertise aligns with their proposed area of research. However, contacting potential supervisors outside the formal admissions process does not guarantee supervision, admission to the programme, or direct entry to the PhD.
No. The PhD programme is a full-time, residential programme that requires students to be based in Cambridge and actively participate in the academic and research community. It is not available through distance learning.
