Florence Huynh.

What is your professional and educational background?

I am currently the Vice President of Innovations at Polymateria, where I lead the development of advanced sustainable materials and drive innovation strategy within the company. My work focuses on translating cutting-edge science into practical solutions that address global environmental challenges.

I completed my engineering studies in France at INP-ENSIACET (part of the French Grandes Écoles system), where I developed a strong foundation in chemical engineering and small molecule chemistry. I then pursued a PhD in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Cardiff University, where I engineered proteins to create high value compounds for agri/drug applications.

What is the most exciting thing about your work?

The most exciting part of my work is collaborating with a talented and driven team that shares the same mission: tackling one of the world’s biggest environmental challenges – plastic pollution.

Working together towards a common purpose creates an incredible sense of energy and momentum. Every day, we combine science, creativity and determination to develop solutions that can make a real difference at a global scale. Knowing that our innovations can contribute to reducing plastic pollution and protecting the planet for future generations is both motivating and deeply rewarding.

What attracted you to Cambridge Judge Business School and the Executive MBA?

I was drawn to Cambridge Judge Business School for the strength of its curriculum and its rigorous academic approach, combined with real-world relevance. The Cambridge Executive MBA stood out for its balance of strategy, leadership and innovation.

I was also attracted by the diversity of the cohort bringing together professionals from different ages, sectors, start-ups and large organisations, which creates rich and dynamic learning discussions.

What are you hoping to get out of the Executive MBA?

I hope to strengthen my strategic leadership skills and broaden my global business perspective. I am particularly keen to deepen my understanding of finance, organisational leadership and scaling innovation, while learning from a diverse cohort of experienced professionals. Ultimately, I want to enhance my ability to drive meaningful impact – both within my organisation and in addressing broader global challenges.

What are your long-term career ambitions?

My long-term ambition is to continue growing as a leader and to expand the scale and scope of the impact I can have. I am motivated by tackling complex global challenges and building organisations that combine innovation, performance and purpose. Ultimately, I aim to use my scientific background and strategic perspective to contribute positively to humanity by enabling breakthrough ideas, developing empowered strong teams and helping shape industries that create lasting value for society.
