Pre-MFin role: Senior Credit Solutions Manager, Scotiabank

I’m originally from Pakistan but Canada became home for much of my life, I even got a second passport along the way. I studied Economics at the University of Victoria, which set me up for a start in finance. Like many grads, I finished my degree during the pandemic when jobs were scarce. I began as a bank teller in Vancouver and honestly, that first role taught me a lot about hustling. In three years, after plenty of learning, I managed to work my way up through four promotions, eventually becoming a Senior Credit Solutions Manager in commercial banking.
After ten years in Canada, I felt the itch for change and wanted to see what Europe had to offer. The MFin wasn’t just another degree, it was my ticket to building a life and career in Denmark, a country I’d always had my eye on. The highlight? Easily the people. The friends and connections I made from around the world meant everything. Serving as class ambassador let me dive even deeper, getting to know everyone’s stories and journeys. Now, I’m excited for whatever’s next in Europe.
