Zheran’s journey

Prior to enrolling in the MFin programme, I completed my Bachelor of Commerce at the University of British Columbia. It was during my role as a financial accountant at Securitas (China) that I became determined to pursue the MFin programme at Cambridge Judge Business School. Post-graduation, I served as a Research Intern at China Securities Co. (CSC), and later transitioned into the role of an investment analyst at a private equity firm focusing on renewable energies and robotics automation in Shanghai. I believe that my journey of bridging these divergent career paths could potentially inspire applicants with similar aspirations and experiences.

There are 3 primary reasons why I highly recommend the MFin programme. Firstly, the Group Consulting Project offers students the opportunity to engage in consulting projects with esteemed organisations such as Citadel, the UN, and Blackstone. My collaboration with a venture capital firm through this initiative not only enhanced my skills but also facilitated my transition into an investment analyst role. Secondly, the MFin curriculum aligns closely with the requirements of the CFA Level 1 exam, which significantly streamlined my preparation process. Lastly, the practical courses offered in the MFin programme, including Financial Modelling, Venture Capital, Econometrics, and Algorithmic Trading, equipped me with invaluable skills applicable to my professional endeavours.

In essence, the MFin programme has been truly transformative for me. If you have any questions or seek further insights into my journey, please do not hesitate to reach out — I am more than happy to share my experiences.
