Due to the large number of applications we receive, we are unable to arrange meetings with individual candidates. There are, however, opportunities to talk to some members of the admissions team during open days. The team will also be able to answer any queries you have via our online contact form.

The MPhil in Management is a full-time, 9-month masters programme.
The programme starts at the beginning of October.
As the MPhil is a full-time programme, the University does not permit you to undertake any employment whilst studying for the degree.
We do not offer the option of distance learning. All students are expected to reside in Cambridge while undertaking the MPhil in Management programme.

Yes. As an MPhil in Management student, you will benefit from the University Careers Service in one of the most dynamic, intellectually stimulating business ecosystems.
The MPhil in Management is not a research degree and therefore does not lead to the PhD in Management Studies programme at Cambridge Judge Business School.
The programme is conceived of as a graduate conversion programme which will prepare students for a professional career. If you are interested in doing a PhD at Cambridge Judge Business School, then please consider applying to one of our specialist research masters programmes instead.

Fees and funding FAQs
Tuition fees for the 2025/26 MPhil in Management class are £39,504 whether your status is home or overseas/international.

No. The University Composition Fee is the same for all MPhil in Management students regardless of nationality.
All MPhil applicants can enter the University of Cambridge Postgraduate Funding Competition. Deadlines will be published in the Postgraduate Funding Search database.

Applications for 2026 entry open in September 2025. You are required to apply via the Applicant Portal. Guidance on the application process and admissions requirements is available on the MPhil apply page and the Postgraduate Admissions website.
Applications for entry in 2025 have now closed. Admissions for 2026 will open in September 2025.
Our minimum admissions requirements to the MPhil in Management programme are as follows:
- less than one year working experience (excluding vacation employment and internships)
- a UK First-Class Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in a subject other than business or management
- completion of any current training or education programme or release from your current institution for the duration of your study
- 2 academic references
- evidence of English language proficiency
- evidence of maths and stats proficiency
- evidence of interpersonal, communication, team-working skills, problem-solving and reasoning skills

The MPhil in Management programme does not allow the candidates to defer the start of their studies. Should your circumstances change and you are no longer able to join the programme from the start of October you will be asked to withdraw from the programme. You are welcome to reapply next year, at which point the Admissions Committee will consider your application again.

The MPhil in Management is a pre-experience, professional practice programme. We do not accept applicants with more than a year of work experience since graduation (excluding vacation employment and internships). Suitably qualified candidates with work experience may wish to consider one of our post-experience programmes.
No, we don’t require a GRE/GMAT score and it will not add any weight to your application.
No, a research proposal is not needed. The MPhil in Management is not a research programme, and it does not link to our PhD.
The programme is designed for graduates, who have not previously studied business and management. If you have previously studied more than three modules on the subjects of accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, operations management, strategy or supply chain management, you will not be eligible for the programme.

The earliest decisions on applications are expected in January, with the majority of decisions being finalised after all applications have been considered following the application deadline.
Our Admissions Committee reviews applications and decides on conditional offers. This process takes several weeks. If shortlisted, you may be invited for an interview via video during this time. Please note that the interview does not assess your English language competency.
When completing your application form, you may choose up to 2 Colleges at which you wish to be considered, if you are offered a place on the MPhil in Management programme.
It is possible that your chosen Colleges will not be able to offer you admission. In that case, your application will be circulated to other Colleges.
This process is carried out by the Postgraduate Admissions Office and they will ensure that you receive an offer of a place from one of the Colleges, once you have a conditional offer to study the MPhil in Management.

Fluency in English is a prerequisite for the MPhil in Management programme. Depending on your nationality and your most recent country of study, you may be required to take a language proficiency test to show you have the necessary command of the language to get the most out of the programme.
You do not need to take the test before you apply. If you are made an offer and have not already met our English language requirements, one of the conditions of admission will be that you pass a test at the correct level.
If you have already taken a test in the past, you must have achieved the minimum requirements no more than 2 years before the start of your programme. Visit the Postgraduate Admissions’ International Student pages for more details.
Applicants who nearly miss the language requirement will not be referred to the Language Centre. To fulfill the language conditions, you must take again an approved English test.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an academic interview to assess their fit with the programme. The interview is not meant to evaluate your English language skills. Therefore, if your first language is not English, the University of Cambridge requires a separate assessment for your English level.
Students who do not hold a UK or Irish passport will need immigration permission in order to come to the UK and study at Cambridge.
