Why regeneration matters now
We need to call upon businesses to play a more ambitious role in building resilient communities, thriving ecosystems and inclusive economies.

Says Professor Christopher Marquis:
“Regeneration represents the next evolution of sustainability – businesses should not just be focusing on sustaining, but actively restoring and enhancing the vitality of natural and societal systems. We need to call upon businesses to play a more ambitious role in building resilient communities, thriving ecosystems and inclusive economies.
“Today, we are faced with climate change, biodiversity loss and rising inequality. Regeneration is more needed than ever. We hope this podcast will open up new conversations around regeneration, helping to benefit both business performance and societal good.”
Real conversations with genuine change-makers
Journey to Regeneration dives into what it really means to build a regenerative business, not just in theory, but in practice, bringing together leading academics, business leaders, sustainability strategists and climate champions as guests in this 12-episode series. It explores key topics such as the challenges of regenerative business, policy catalysts for change, and what it means to be ‘net positive’.
The podcast launches with Vincent Stanley, Director of Philosophy at Patagonia, where he explores how organisations such as Patagonia can act responsibly in an extractive global economy, providing examples of how Patagonia’s bold campaigns seek to change consumer behaviour.
Take regenerative action
Each episode concludes with ‘The Regenerative Action’ – where guests share a practical action that listeners can take – individually or within their organisation – towards regenerative thinking.
