Six ventures associated with Cambridge Judge Business School are among the initial cohort of 24 startup companies that will join the SPARK 1.0 incubator programme organised by King’s Entrepreneurship Lab (King’s E-Lab) and Founders at the University of Cambridge, an initiative that aims to tap innovation at the University for technical and social innovation through entrepreneurship.

Kamiar Mohaddes, Associate Professor in Economics and Policy at Cambridge Judge, is Co-Founder and Director of King’s E-Lab, whose first incubator will run for 4 weeks from the end of August.

The focus of companies linked to Cambridge Judge range from electric vehicles to food intolerance to fintech, and were founded or co-founded by current or incoming students in the Business School’s MBA, Global Executive MBA and Masters in Entrepreneurship programmes. Inspiring a new generation to think how entrepreneurial ideas can shape the world

We want SPARK to be a catalyst, showing students the reality of founding a company.

Said Kamiar: “Cambridge has been responsible for many world-changing discoveries, but entrepreneurship isn’t the first thought of most people studying here. Driving economic growth requires inspiring the next generation to think boldly about how their ideas can shape industries and society. We want SPARK to be a catalyst, showing students the reality of founding a company. We look forward to seeing this cohort turn their ambitions into ventures that contribute meaningfully to the economy.”

The ventures associated with Cambridge Judge include:

  • Aizen (fintech credit referencing)
  • Atera Analytics (electric vehicle infrastructure)
  • Cambridge Mobilytics (e-mobility data)
  • IntolerSense (uncovering food intolerances)
  • MENRVA (art world matchmaking)

A final anonymous firm is linked to Cambridge Judge and is focusing on ESG investments in frontier markets.
