In recent decades, entrepreneurship has taken on an increasingly central role in the global economy. It has become a crucial mechanism for the commercialisation of new technologies, a pathway for adapting to uncertainty and disruption, and a means for individuals to pursue their own career ambitions and purpose-driven goals. At the same time, advances in technology have elevated the visibility and influence of entrepreneurs, positioning them as key actors not only in business but also in shaping society, policy, and culture. Looking forward, an important question arises: what will entrepreneurship look like in 5, 10, or even 25 years? This interactive session will explore how entrepreneurial practice is evolving and what the future might hold. What are the next big opportunities for entrepreneurs, and how can these be pursued responsibly, while also grappling with the uncertainties of the future and risks that inevitably accompany entrepreneurial action?

Matthew Tai (chi-yip), graduate of the Cambridge EMBA programme, is the CEO of a Hong Kong-based hedge fund names JM Enigma Capital established in 2006. He has been actively investing in real estate and the later Web 2.0 fintech over time and has been reported in Bloomberg for his early success in the industry.
After graduation under the EMBA programme, Matthew restructured JME from a fund-base company to a conglomerate for participating in the web 3 and blockchain industry by leveraging his quantitive finance and legal knowledge in his early education. He has founded both ADX technology for developing blockchain and Web 3 payment gateway and HKNEX limited for digital art configuration and property right digitalisation for divisible ownership with the application of international arbitration law, inspired by his final year project about NFT’s true intrinsic value and application on the EMBA programme. His company is also now participating in the stable coin industry with the aim to build up a full and complete Web 3 ecosystem.
